How to use this tool
- Open the relevant articles from your Google Alerts in new tabs as usual. (If you are not sure how to do this, or what this means, contact Joe Sutherland via emailājsutherland [at] wikimedia.org).)
- Use an extension such as Copy All URLs to get all news items' URLs onto your clipboard, and paste them into the grey box. Hit Go!.
- Once the URLs are done processing (this can take a few moments!), the form should be populated by some information from the first URL. Add a subject and hit enter (or click "add topic").
- Double-check the title is trimmed and correct, that the web address makes sense, and the date is correct, then add some context (a quote, for example).
- Click "Add to results". It will be added under the appropriate topic automatically.
- The software should alert you when all URLs are done. If you need to go back to one you missed, use the item dropdown.
- Once you're done, click copy to clipboard to format the report. Paste into your email, add a suject, summary, and recipients, and you're done! :D
